This made my day

Someone found my blog by doing the following Google search:

"handcart" mormon frozen children utah stupid

Please fess up if it was you, because you nearly made me fall off my chair laughing.

On a sadder note, I realized today that I spend a lot of time blogging. Like, hours per day. And while that was fine when I had a job and pretty much sat in a chair eight hours a day, it probably isn't going to fly now that classes (and the related readings/writings/killing of self) have started.

So I've decided to budget myself. I'm only allowed to spend 1 hour per day blogging & emailing. When I think about it, after my breathing resumes, that's quite a bit of time, really. If I spent that much every day towards scripture study and meditation, just think about what a good person I could be! Instead, I choose to dedicate that time to snark.

The reason I'm alerting everyone is because I probably won't be able to visit your blogs or make comments as often as I'm used to doing. This will probably hurt me more than it hurts you, but there you have it. So please forgive me if I join conversations way after the fact or if I'm clueless in general.

I'd better go, though. I have to get up early to sneak in a bath before the tiling project resumes!

All I can say is, if this is the way you repay my loyalty, it's a good thing I jumped ship early and found a new BF. Best Friend, that is, not boyfriend, because I already have one of those, and don't need another one, unlike some people who were formerly married to my current BF/husband, even TSMITW, whom I love and would never cheat on. Unlike some people.

Okay, so anyway, I'll miss you. I understand if you have to spend more time on your studies. It will only mean you'll get a better job in the end, where you'll sit at a desk in an office with mahogany furnishings and have countless hours to devote to blogging with me.

I think it's hilarious that someone found you with those search words! That's cool. Too bad to hear you won't be blogging as much. But then, if I have fewer blogs to read, maybe I'll just get more work done....?

Yeah, sometimes I wonder what would happen to me if I dedicated my blogging time to exercise... I'll think of you while I'm on the treadmill dearest---oops! I mean, second-dearest!

What if I don't want to spend more time devoted to work? Surely you've noticed that you're listed as a Workplace Distractor, not a Something I Do on My Own Time. I think I could very well be miserable now. I know that, in theory, you should do what's best for you, but that just doesn't work for me. I'll sleep on it tonight and let you know in the morning whether or not I'm happy with your decision to exercise control and budget your time toward meaningful pursuits in life that don't include brightening my day.

(Hmm. Maybe this will actually be good for me. In reviewing my comment, I'm realizing that I have a tendency to turn everything into something about me. I do that to yours and TexMom's and Theric's blogs all the time. I think I've even done it to Daltongirl's and Cicada's blogs. (Okay, if I haven't, I know I've thought about it.) This shouldn't be about me; this should be about you. It is your blog after all. Okay. I'm going to let go. I fully support you in limiting your internet time.)

Go forth and prosper young grasshopper. I hate limiting my net time, but I benefit every time I do. Sad but true.

Of course you could learn to read and type really, really fast. That would also work. :)

By the way, how do you know what searches people are doing? You often comment on that. Is there a link I'm missing on your blog??

Nemesis said... [reply]

Chosha, I use the sitemeter at the bottom of the main page. It will sometimes show you which pages people used to get here, whether it's another blog w/a link to me a search results page. Kind of a fun little thing.

Aw, DANGIT! I'm not supposed to be blogging right now! It's not my hour yet! AAAArrrgh.

This is going to be hard.

Yay, it's about time that you started one, grumbeer! All the cool kids are doing it.

I guarantee the sole reason you showed up in that search is because the searcher used the word "stupid" for his/her search criteria.

And you're welcome.

sincerely, stupid

Considering I don't have a blog (although I'm beginning to feel left out!!), this won't effect me too much. But if I did have one and you didn't visit it, I would be offended and cry myself to sleep on my huge pilluh. As long as you do your blog, so we can keep up to date w/ you :)

You should do what's best for you; your grades will thank you for it. You have your lifetime to blog and one year to do your masters (am I a teacher or what?!)

You may be my new hero!!!

I am getting my MLS online through Drexel University in PA - not nearly as glamorous as getting it in England - I am quite jealous...you are so close to France and I adore France....and your post in which you mentioned the cheeses..I catually got misty-eyed. I have just found your blog only to discover that you will not be blogging as often...it's almost like a break-up...I need therapy.

Well, cheers - I look forward to reading more - best of luck with the studies!!

I think your priorities are all out of whack. Personally, I blog/e-mail about 3 hours a day, and do maybe 30 minutes of homework. This is what you should do. Otherwise, you may have a blog riot on your hands.

Sniff . . . gosh you guys are great. I promise I'm still blogging, though. I just won't be commenting as much on other sites. I won't be able to help reading your stuff, though. It's what I read instead of current events.

Daltongirl--you're darn straight about that office. And I'll have them install a second monitor just for blogging purposes.

Jessica, thanks for the support! :-)

Cicada--sometimes I think you just like to hurt me.

EKB--No worries, I make things all about me too. I think it means that we're really smart and socially mature.

Stupid--I owe you one.

Kristen--Yeah you're a teacher. That or you're secretly MY DAD.

Redlawy, I think you're my new hero. I quit my job and moved out here so I wouldn't have to attempt doing a degree online. And now that I've ready your blog and laughed my head off, I have one more thing trying to lure me away from homework. So thanks for that. Really.

Coop--Options were considered. Tough choices were made. Hearts were touched.

How are you able to tell how people found your blog?

M. Hatch said... [reply]

I'm not the one who first found your blog by googling:

"handcart" mormon frozen children utah stupid

Just the loser waiting up for teenage daughter that had to test the hypothesis...
