Two Good Newses
Note: The do not think the title reads "Two Good Newsies," because there is no such thing as that, Christian Bale notwithstanding. I like to pretend that movie never happened, and that I never saw him performing NKOTB dance moves like some kind of Mouseketeer. Everyone, please indulge me in this.
Good news #1: Remember that job in L***n? They just called and asked me to come in for an interview. So I'm excited to actually have one of those things. It's not until after Thanksgiving, but I'll let y'all know when to start sending prayers, good vibes, and voodoo chants my way!
Good news #2: The Utah Chocolate Show. Did anyone else know about this thing? I'm going Saturday and I cannot even wait. You just wander around and eat chocolate the whole time! I'm going to ignore the part where it will probably be American chocolate rather than European chocolate, because addicts can't always have principles.

Congrats on the interview in the unnamed town which is home of Utah State. I haven't heard of the Utah Chocolate show, but I saw an Unwrapped about the NY Chocolate show that has been going on since 1994.
I'm sorry, but I have to hate you now. Yes, hate. I know that makes me an awful person but seriously, this is killing me. I'm going to be in Utah on Wednesday. WEDNESDAY! That's four days too late to enjoy the chocolate wonderland.
AAAAAAAAAAAARRRGGGGGHHHH!
Of course I had to torture myself even more by looking at all the amazing classes they're offering. Augh. I hate you.
Yay for the interview! Fingers crossed etc. for you. And they will be completely impressed with your red hot car and your overall magnificence that they'll only do the interview as a formality. And I must confess that at one time I owned the Newsies soundtrack and soulfully sang along with it. My Scarred-for-life-by-Christian-Bale movie is Empire of the Sun. I think I was 8 when I saw it and it was the most depressing movie I had ever seen. Darn you Steven Spielberg!
There was this event in downtown Reno last weekend calle Fantasy In Chocolate. I was begging to go but Sean asked around and apparently the fantasy part comes from getting really, really hammered while eating chocolate. Too bad for me. BTW, you just need to call my mom to confirm date and time for that play. She's nice, I promise.
Shame on you for knocking Newsies. Shaaaaame.
On a different note, take money with you to the chocolate show. They sell chocolate. Lots of it. And if it's like it was when I went a couple years ago, you can get Steven's Hot Chocolate at a steal.
Oh, and best wishes with the interview for the job we all know you already have.
Thanks Abby. I'm sure this chocolate show will be nothing compared to the NY one!
Lilcis, I'm sorry that we are fighting. I promise I'll think of you while I'm eating masses of chocolate! ;-)
Let's hope, Mom. I just don't think I'm cut out for incomelessness.
Okay, Scully, only for you would I admit the following: In high school I did some temporary office work and the only music I had access to was the Newsies soundtrack, which I listened to over and over again. I probably still have the songs memorized. But I was young, see.
Too bad about the Reno Fantasy in Chocolate, Amyjane! And I'm so not scared of your mom! I love your mom. I mean, unless she's mad at me. In which case I will run as fast as my stubby limbs will carry me.
EKB, I must speak as I find. And thanks for the tip about taking money--that is a gooood tip.
yay! let me know if you need a place to stay
That makes me feel so much better Nemesis! I'm not alone in my former Newsies addiction.
I can't say I was addicted, but I was a normal fourteen-year-old girl, and I think that right there says it all. But Christian Bale . . . yeah, he's just gotten better and better. I still laugh at the thought of him leaping about like some sort of leprachaun.
Woohoo, on both counts. Actually, bigger woohoo on the interview, as I don't like American chocolate, but woohoo nonetheless.
I found a box under my bed while moving things around for painting and when I looked in the box I found old cassette tapes from ages and ages ago. And one of them was a copy of the Newsies soundtrack. Apparently I had to be able to listen to it at any time, therefore both the CD and the tape versions. Sad.
