Taking a stand

Velour track suits are up there on my list of Clothing
That Should Not Exist.

They are ugly.
They are sloppy.
They are not flattering.
They are especially gross when worn with high-heeled shoes.
Just because Paris Hilton does it doesn't make it right--in fact, that should be your biggest encouragement to walk away.

I imagine that they must be comfortable, otherwise I don't see why people would wear them. If so then they're comfortable in the way that, say, pajamas are comfortable. And no matter what we may think when we're freshmen and all hopped up on pizza and brownies and freedom from curfews and sleep and showers, it's not okay to go out in your pajamas. It just isn't.

If you are really having a fat day and can't bear the thought of cramming yourself into jeans, I humbly suggest that you look into yoga pants.

Black = slimming
Hot-pink shiny clinging velour = watch my butt jiggle

So. I would love to hear what's on your CTSNE lists.

Ooh, Ooh! Bandeau tops. And H=halter tops. I've yet to see anyone other than skinny-minny Kiera Knightley come even remotely close to pulling it off. Even modesty put aside, they're just not atttractive or good.

Gauchos. More precisely, gauchos with boots. I know, I know, a lot of people I know and love have become part of this trend. One of them even looked cute, but she kind of looks cute all the time, so it doesn't really count.

Every time I see someone walking down the street in Boston with gauchos and boots I just shake my head. What a weird trend.

Absolutely jeans without back pockets!

Anything with Taz on it. Adults wearing clothing with Disney characters on them are just disturbing.

Camouflage-colored ANYTHING. Particularly pink and pastel-colored camouflage. I mean, whattheheck?

I hate the huge sunglasses, sweatpants with any words on the behind, basically anything that the sorority girls wear.

Leggings under minis, especially if worn w/ platforms and/or stilletos. Leggings were a travesty in the late 80s when we wore them with oversized t-shirts knotted around our hips and they are a travesty now. Also, it makes legs look half as long as regular tights would.

I definitely hate anything with words written across the butt. Oh, and sleeveless shirts on men. Not a big fan of gauchos either.

I once saw a woman and her two daughters all wearing matching pink track suits. It was scary.

those flipflops with the stiletto heels, skinny jeans, wedge heels, leggings and thongs that ride up to where everyone can see them under super lowrise jeans

Men in sweatpants...enough said.

I could definitely do without the gaucho pants. Oh, and those shirts at Walmart that are plastered with Winnie the Pooh characters.

Gauchos.....never got into those.

Boys who wear their jeans below their butts, and boys who wear girls' jeans.

Bubble tops. Leggings under skirts. Daisy Dukes. White slips peeking out of slits in black skirts. Shorts and high heels. Anything worn by Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen.

I forgot to mention that the whole concept of 'Formal Shorts' should be removed from the fashion world.

Desmama! I'm so glad someone else despises camo as much as I do.

PLATFORM FLIP-FLOPS. Questionable at all times, unforgivable after the age 20.

I love my velour tracksuit.
I would rather die than wear it outside my house.
The last time I wore my velour pants out of the house was after my water broke and I was on the way to the hospital at 3:00am in the morning.

1.Baseball caps worn backwards on the head of anyone over 12 years old.
2. Spandex pants. Don't see them much anymore, thankfully, but let's make sure they don't make a comeback.
3. And, in agreement with Kristin's comment, no guys in "girls" jeans.
4. And I agree that it's time to send camo back to the military.

The Loughbrough YSA CTSNE list is; pedal pushers with boots, socks and sandels, anything Engineseer sees on the girls who are out on a Friday night in Loughborough, bright orange shirts (only if you have ginger hair), thongs ( UK meaning not US), flaired trousers, short tops (Social doesn't think they look good on anyone)

I have a green one, a brown one and a blue one. I also have a blue and a black one that are not velour. I love these.I also have a pair of camoflauge pants (complete with the ties at the ankles) that I love. They fit better than any maternity pants I've ever worn. And my husband is extremely sexy in his backwards ball cap. I even like his sweatpants.

Can I still leave comments on this page?

Scienceteachermommy, of course you can comment. And we can still be friends. You'll have to take the camo up with Desmama, though.

It's a nice thinking that if these suits are not comfortable that why should anyone buy this. However, actually, they are that's why we can see people wearing these suits. Girls tracksuits
