Remember that one time when I went to the City Library and worshiped it?

I went there with Jenny but I never did include pics. So here you go. And now you will understand why I must work here some day if my life is to be complete (here, and at Hot Dog on a Stick--for the uniforms).

When people found out about this main atrium it became the engagement photo spot for both book lovers and those who hate being in nature and do not feel it reflects them as a couple. I am all for people doing their photos here, because it's pretty and because maybe they would instinctively feel that piggyback photos would be quite out of place in such a setting. As opposed to parks, where you just automatically leap on each other's backs as soon as your feet hit the grass, apparently.

Sorry. Just realized we've never covered the piggyback engagement photos here and might as well.

Note how there is space for both books and people.

Because books + butterflies = genius

Nice one. Putting the typo right in front of the people least likely to be able to deal with it.

Hey, it's not a true blog post unless ovaries are mentioned.

Part of their rooftop garden. Because they needed one more way for me to love them beyond reason. I would have taken photos of the children's section but worried that my camera might crack at the Awesome. So you'll have to wait for that. Maybe next time.

This is definitely my favorite library too. I still miss it. Boston has beautiful libraries but they are more stuffy and the SLC library is pretty and airy.

And I'm not going to have my engagement pictures here... I'm having my reception. Pretty rooftop garden, plus books! It's perfect!

I love working here. It's a great library system and a fabulous library building. And the community is so library-friendly, it's unbelievable.

A belated welcome to Level 3. Come back and visit us anytime!

Jer, I'm really sorry I didn't ask where I could find you. That would have made the day perfect. I'm a loser but I will get it right next time!

Forgive teh stoopid, but I'm having trouble spotting the typo. Unless it's a missing "."?

That does look like an awesome library. The new one on campus here has a similar (if much smaller scale -- sort of like a child acting like an older sibling) feel to it.

Amazing. I wish I had a library that inviting where I live (although my school's library isn't at all shabby).

PS: I worked at Hot Dog on a Stick during high school and it was honestly fabulous. Not only did I get to wear that cool hat and try to juggle lemons in front of the whole mall food court, but I got to drink all of the lemonade that I wanted while at work. The BEST lemonade on the the planet.

so when will you be taking your engagement photos here? That's clearly what you wanted us to get out of this post. Congratulations!!

The library is beautiful, and I adore it, but I cannot appreciate its awesomeness today because I can't stop thinking how fabulous you would look in a Hot Dog on a Stick outfit. Maybe you should wear one in your engagement photos.

Just read this:
Head to the library for fun.

Guess which library?!

You know, I just can't help but fast forward two years when you are a mom and wondering what your new theme will be when ovaries just aren't an issue anymore? I can't wait.

OK, you've inspired me and we're visiting the SLC Library tomorrow.

I think your mom just outed you (in these comments and in your sister's). Is there something you'd like to tell us?

this is completely unrelated, but I have to share the good news!

Nem, I just got an apartment that's literally TWO BLOCKS from an IKEA!

*happy happy happy*

Eva, congratulations! You are a lucky, lucky woman. I blow that thing a kiss every time I drive by it. Le Sigh . . .

Lilcis, sorry! I have nothing to report at this time, no matter what my mom might be making people think.

It seems from the comments of people who actually know you that you are engaged. I am more excited about your engagement than I ever have been about the excitement of a stranger. Congratulations.

Also, I regularly hop on my husband's back for piggy-back rides. But, no, we did not send out piggy-back ride engagement photos.
