Twenty weeks

Here's us at the halfway point. (Note: this is how I look when I stand up straight. I hardly ever do this. Usually I stand around all swaybacked like a three-year-old child. Or hips-out like Paris Hilton. And then I look bigger.)

Ultrasound pics, as promised. You'll notice that his face (blob on right) is mostly cute but is also a tiny bit Skeletor. Also check out the arm. Maybe he was annoyed with the sonogram noise.

Say it with me now. "FEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!" Aaaand your windows probably just shattered if you did it right.

The money shot:

The ultrasound technician went on to measure my amniotic fluid levels and complimented me on my "pocket." I blushed modestly. "Well, I did get really good scores on my PSATs in high school, so . . . "

Yay for you!!! You know... on the healthy baby boy thing. Congrats on the pocket as well.

I love the demure way in which ultrasound technicians label the genitalia.

OH. Jonathon, she kept calling it a "pee pee." As in, "So there's the scrotum and there's the pee pee!" Really--you can say "scrotum" but not "penis"?

Reminds me of my sister Jen's ultrasound to find the sex of Baby Hudson. Her 3-yr-old Ethan took one look at the screen, yelled "He's got a PENIS!!!" and it was all over.

How great! Now that it's a boy, I will suggest, Pee-pee Tee-pee's for those first diaper changes...unless you want a pee bath. :)

I'm sure they are still talking about Ethan's future in reading ultrasounds...

Also, now that you're showing pictures of your kid's penis on the blog you're going to have to make it password protected.

Enter unknown blog reader: I found your blog through a mutual friend (Misadventures of a Girl with Good Intentions) and I had to comment-- we are at almost exactly the same stage of pregnancy! I hit 20 weeks after tomorrow and the ultrasound of destiny is on Monday. (I hope I get to see cute feet!!)

I had low amniotic fluid... pocket is good! Congrats! I loved having a boy first! He is crazy as all get-out, but he is my boy!!! And yes, my kids... short legs... long waist... no hope for sports, or in the case of the girls finding an un-hideous 1 piece bathing suit.

My sister's doctor told her at 17 weeks that she was probably having a girl. Over the moon, she told the whole family (she already had two boys). Three weeks later, she called and said, "My girl has a penis" and burst into tears. :)

You look adorable, by the way. Also, I met your sister a few weeks ago. She is hilarious.

I still haven't outgrown my love of feet. I stared at my three year old's for a good five minutes yesterday, just to marvel at their sweet perfection.
