Because it is hailing and stupid outside

I am going to give you pictures of flowers, which I took in warmer and less hail-filled times. The first three were taken near my house, and the last two are on the castle grounds at Nottingham. Only it turns out what they call The Castle isn't actually a castle, but is a Victorian-era building built on the site where all the original castles stood before they got burned down and knocked over and quarried and stuff. But that's neither here nor there. Only it would have been nice if some people could have had a better sense of responsibility to their cultural heritage, that's all, or at least to the witty and attractive library students who might one day choose to visit.

King of Swamp Castle: When I first came here, this was all swamp. Everyone said I was daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built in all the same, just to show them. It sank into the swamp. So I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. So I built a third. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp. But the fourth one stayed up. And that's what you're going to get, Lad, the strongest castle in all of England.

Some people's children . . .

Anyway, hope you enjoy the flowers! I'm off to eat a curry and possibly do some homework.

Doesn't it seem like the weather always directly contradicts our mood of the day. not that I have a mood of the day. Only weird people do that. But it would be a good idea.

(it's sleepy today)

"Wake Me Up When September Ends" Do you know that song? The other day a friend mixed up the months, but I thought it was very appropriate. WAKE ME UP WHEN FEBRUARY ENDS! The Mormons are freezing out here!

CBH--Yep, nature is crazy like that.

AA--I know! Isn't it so pretty?

Sorry, Rachel. If it's any consolation, this summer I'll be missing sunshine and swimming pools and temperatures about 80 degrees.

Can anyone tell my sister where the quote is from? Anyone . . . anyone . . . ?

Hee hee. I feel sleepy when it's cloudy outside. Or rainy. Or Englandy.

Yeah, no idea, th. They're just next to my front porch, though, and when they open maybe we'll be able to tell. I call them Ghost Flowers at the moment.

A while, coolmom. A while . . . :-)

Hi foodie, long time no see! And hey, we're almost to March . . .

It's from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It's the part where Lancelot is searching for the grail on his own, and he encounters the castle with the little pansy price that doesn’t want to get married, and his dad insists that he does. He then gives him that little speech, and locks him in a tower (after a little confusion with the guards).

The desperate price then attached a plea for help onto and arrow and shoots it out the window. Lancelot happened to he on his way by, and the arrow kills his little servant guy. After reading the note, he storms the castle in an effort to save the price, and kills a whole lot of wedding guests on the way, including the bride's parents (at least one of them anyway).

In short, Lancelot finds the price, is getting ready to escape from his window with a bed sheet rope. The king catches up and says it's alright, and worse things have happened. Lancelot then cuts the knot of attaching the rope to the bed, and the prince presumably dies.

And mom, I know that all flowers come from the ground. I ment that it was a amazing that they're five centimetres out of tyhe ground(they're england flowers)and they've already bloomed. Sheesh.

An Edit to that last post, at the begining of the third paragraph, it's the prince that is about to climb out the window on a rope, not Lancelot.
