Shut. Your. Mouth.

This is the other piece of good news for the day.

So the blind date called last night and asked me out for this weekend. Yay for dates!

ALSO, as soon as I got off the phone, Ed came in with the mail and there was a card addressed to me from Blind Date Guy. It was a thank-you card, thanking me for last weekend and wishing me luck on my job interview.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Who even does that?

That was when I said the words of "SHUT. YOUR. MOUTH," which Savannah heard and then kept repeating, which resulted in a Time Out for her. And I felt really bad about that part because she was all standing in the corner crying and stuff.

And now Jenny is rethinking her past and saying stuff like, "You know, if I hadn't gotten engaged when I was twelve I bet someone would have eventually written me a card like that. And that would've been awesome."

Holy cow, I didn't even know that boys knew what Thank You Notes WERE!! And there was much rejoicing.

Mom, you don't know his mother, remember?

Thank you cards are so over rated. You should be looking for a guy just like the one your sister married. The one who takes the nice pictures of the cute little children. I would choose him for a son-in-law any day!!!

Way to go Ed, I mean anon.

Wow. Now there's a guy who knows how to treat a lady. That's amazing! Very cool.

You're having a great day! Congrats on the job. I love Logan. And it's really close to Bear Lake.

So, did he score positive points or negative points with the card? I mean, you never specified.

Congrats on the job-n-stuff. Now you can call back your would-have-been creditors and shove your new, salaried position in their faces. It's good to know I should ask people about their hair next time I interview someone...

Um, the anonymous posting was not by me. It seems though that Anonymous is wisest of us all.

Thanks for the props Anon.

I don't even know you, or Mr. Blind Date, but that is so cute. See, not all blind dates are bad. Except for the one I went on where he made me sneak into the movie theater and used the same brand of lip balm that I did. But, good luck with this fellow.

Ed: I know I don't know you either (or any of you), but I swear when I read your post that it said: Anonymous is the widest of us all.

I hope it goes without saying that I am thrilled for you--for the job as well as the classy guy who has the good sense not only to send a note, but to ask you out again. And you yourself are very classy and gracious, I might add, for leaving the note for me. Sorry I wasn't around.

What a nice boy. Please tell me he's promising in other areas, i.e. gainfully employed, intelligent, religious, not secretly an ax-murdurer, etc.

Also, coolmom, that's totally something my mother would say.

I think you just found the reality behind an Urban Singleton Legend. A blind date that ends well and is with a nice, well-mannered, sensitive man. That is amazing. Karma has smiled upon you this week, my friend. A new job AND a boy who writes thank-you cards. In a timely manner, no less.

I bet Jenny is thrilled that you will now be moving out and will no longer be influencing her children in evil ways.

Theric sent me a thank you card after a date once. It pretty much sealed the deal.

The thank you card is cute, but I wouldn't miss it. Personally I'm just impressed he had the smarts to ask you out again. This is a tres nice week with the job and all. Enjoy!

PS...you didn't get a time out? That seems a bit cheeky. :)

Sounds like he's a keeper. :)

Chosha, I did give myself a time out yesterday when I said the words of "shut up" in her hearing. Then I hugged my sister and said "sorry" to her, as are the time-out rules.
