Stupid books that make me stay up reading til 2am

So I got Eclipse home and read it. My plan was to only read the first few chapters and then set it aside til the weekend when I'll have more time. Yeah. That got shot.

I think I'll have to read it again before I can do any kind of decent review. But I will say that this book has moved me firmly over to Team Edward. As has the scene in the Big Bed, about which I will say no more. Just . . . whew. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Jacob Black in a Sleeping Bag too but I think Edward totally won out in this one. Which is good since I spent the last book bugged at what a whiny baby he was being.

Also, I don't think Bella is very bright. I really don't.

So. For those who've read the books, which team are you on?

I like Edward and I still think Bella is dumb and she better pull her head out soon.

If I never stayed up until 2 am I’d never have time to read a book. So what’s more important, sleep or a good book? Sleep is stupid and boring. The book is always more important.

It wasn't so much the 2am thing as it was the OTHER things I was supposed to be doing--like the things with deadlines. I am a weak, weak person.

I've only read the first two, but I was also a little annoyed with Edward after the second book and found myself liking Jacob a little more. I'm interested to find out why book three will make me change my mind. Also, Bella is (in my humble opinion) a very annoying heroine. That said, I will still keep reading for the sheer drama of it all :)

Oh, and the mention of a big bed scene sounds very interesting.

My copy arrives today (good thing I don't have any plans!), so I'll have to let you know. While reading New Moon, though, I was so distracted during the whole Jacob Black parts that I had to go back and read them once I knew Edward was coming back (I'm thoroughly camped in camp Edward). I'm a sucker for a love story, what can I say? Big bed scene, you say? *grin*

Whenever I utter the words "just a few chapters," I can expect a "yeah right" somewhere in the near future. During college semesters, I tried not to even touch recreational literature because I knew little things like homework, meals, sleep, etc., would go right out the window if I did.

Ok, so I've only read the first book, but I must place myself squarely in Team Edward. I have a sordid history of being pro-vampire, with the exception of the movie Van Helsing, in which transformations between human and werewolf required Hugh Jackman to be shirtless for a substantial period of time.

oh man - i can't wait to get my little hands on this treasure. can you sneak me a copy? are there any available at North Logan? "big bed" scene? are you serious? I am also interested to see why the emphasis on Team Edward. I think i was always on Team Edward - though Jacob sounded so big, strong, safe - and warm :). I think I have a thing for big and strong.

oh - and I resent the "stupid" part of your title. "STUPID" books that make me stay up reading til 2am". ;)

team jacob!

I want a t-shirt that says so, and I saw some on Little Brown's flickr site but they don't seem to be for sale. Both the "Team Jacob":

and the "Team Edward": http://www.flickr.com/photos/10103471@N08/987528908/

shirts are pretty fantastic!

Team jacob, definitely. I was pro-Edward all the way through Twilight and half of New Moon, but Bella's obsessiveness started to get on my nerves. And Edward seems too controlled now--show us your personality, man! Jacob seems more real to me. And I've had the kind of obsessive relationship that Edward and Bella have, and it's not as fun as this book makes it look. (I've been a lurker on your blog for about 2 years now, btw)

Got the book, haven't started reading. Team Edward since Day 1. Can't read any comments in case something's given away!

Darn you, Word Verification! Can't you be any shorter?

Big Bed scene actually had me thinking things that a married person should not think about people they are not married to. Like wishing that certain fictional characters were real. And/or that I was Bella and living in the world of The Eyre Affair.

And I can't believe you were ever considering NOT being on Team Edward, whininess notwithstanding. It's like I don't even know you.

Yes, Bella is not very smart. I can't believe she got into all those colleges.

I sit in the team Jacob Camp. But I could be persuaded....
I'm halfway through Eclipse and Edward's personality seems to be getting as cool as his skin.

I think I have to say Team Jacob because she would not have to change for him. But it is really so hard to choose, I adore Edward as well. I just finished it yesterday.

And may I add the Bella is just an awful heroine! She is self-deprecating, and really rather a cry baby, with no strength of character, or any idea who she is!

I think her a poor roll model for the zillions of teenage girls who gag with pleasure on these books.
