This morning's heart attack

. . . was brought to me by Cicada, with this picture:

My heart stopped for a full minute before I read the part about the glass separating the swimmers from the bears. Not that the bears aren't working on a plan as we speak. Because they are. And I hope Cicada's visit does NOT coincide with the day that they break through the wall and start feasting on little children.

I moved to Alaska during the days of Binky the Polar Bear, who was famous for mauling people who got too close to his cage at the Anchorage Zoo. It was my introduction to my new home state, if you will.

"Welcome to Alaska. Try not to get eaten."

It's basically like me separated from chocolate decadence cake by merely a window. I'm going to find my way around the window.

Heck yes you are.

I can't imagine wanting to get in the temperature of water that would appeal to a polar bear. But I guess if live bait were swimming in it, any temp would be good.

Oh, I miss Binky! Why are people so dumb? I ask myself that question every day. Who comes up with these ideas? Crazy people.

soo.. I half expected to log onto your blog today and see a link to the KSL article about the SLC attorney who is putting together a rally to take place at the Delta Center. ( sorry I CANNOT call it the other name) to try to cancel the rest of the Jazz/Rockets games to show Utahs Support of the FLDS church. Or are you purposly avoiding that otherwise tainted topic?

Wow. Anonymous, I didn't know anything about the rally at the DeltaEnergySolutionsArenaCenter. So that would be part of the reason why I wasn't talking about it. Will have to go read up!

One of my life dreams is to swim with wild animals. However, my taste leans more toward baby dolpins than top-of-the-food-chain-carnivores. To each his own.

All the Utahns I know think the FLDS folks are nuts. (Literally.) I mean -- forcing barely pubescent girls to marry old men (while driving out the young men to keep up the ratio)?!

Marriage is something that should NEVER be forced.

Of course, I probably should just hold my comments until it becomes a topic. After all, we have polar bears to discuss. :)

That's funny that it's a real picture, because I thought it was just someone good at Photoshop who added the two kids in. But as a parent I'd sure think twice before tossing my two Kidlet Fun-Sized Bear Snacks in a pool with a polar bear. Or any bear for that matter.
