Wedding Video

So this is the video that GH made and which we tried to show at our luncheon. But since the caterers didn't actually test it beforehand like they said they were going to do, it didn't work with their equipment. After fiddling around and bringing in a different DVD player they hit "play" and a succession of orange blobs slightly resembling people marched across the screen.

(Note: At this point the caterers scurried downstairs and out of sight. Smart. But not, since they were still going to be getting it from GH anyway. And then from me.)

About one minute in GH just turned it off as a mercy act because the picture was that awful and we were all sitting there pretending to enjoy some Oompa Loompa video we couldn't even see.

You may notice a lack of junior high & high school pictures. That is completely intentional and was because I did not wish to be reminded of the Troll Years on my special, special day. It also may appear from the number of mission photos that GH was out there for approximately seven years. It was just the usual two, although I'm sure he'd say it felt like seven. Also, try and guess which song was my sole contribution. ("One of these things is not like the other . . ." )

Here you go!

Steph, I just loved the video and all of the wedding photos which have been posted. You looked so beautiful and so happy. Congratulations, we are so happy for you! x x x

I heart the library shots.

Thanks for sharing your wedding video, and allowing your friends to post about your big day. The pictures were all great, and after reading about the preparations, it was fun to see how some of it turned out. Congratulations again, and best wishes to you and GH!

So THAT's what those pictures were of! Definitely loved it more the second time through--when no one was orange.

Um . . . the kissing by the stacks picture is just about the cutest thing I've ever seen.

This is NOT a good promo movie for missionary service: 16-19 year old boys will view it and say, "What? I go on a mission and work like a dog for two years while the girls stay home and do every fun thing?"

I think we all have those troll years videos. This is especially bad if you went to middle/high school in the 80's. NOBODY looked good. Even people who were supposed to look good just looked stupid.

So fun! And you look totally like your neice and nephew as a kid--cracked me up. I think that any pictures taken between 1980 and about 1997 are designated "troll years". What were we thinking?

The video turned out great! I enjoyed watching it and I hope everything is going great for the two of you!!!!

I loved seeing your video...so much fun! I'm a little glad that it didn't turn out at the dinner so that then I could see it on your blog. Thanks for sharing! Hope you both are doing well. :)

Because I don't know you personally, I feel I need to ask...

Who gets a dictionary for their birthday???

I don't know if that's your style or not, but considering that you use bigger vocab words than I do on a daily basis (or you know, a blogging basis), I can see that it came in handy. I hope it doesn't creep you out that some random chick... me... is reading and viewing things from your blessed event. But I assure you that I only do so to enforce my own hearty (or not so much) speech. Congrats at any rate!

I don't even know you guys (although I do read the blog regularly), but super cute video!

And I just HAVE to ask--where did you get the black and white skirt that you wore in your engagement pictures?? I simply MUST have it!!!

Kelly said... [reply]

Too cute! I particularly like your dad's overalls.

So GH is a big Beatles fan, is that what we're supposed to take away from this music-wise? Who is that singing the 3rd song? They sound very familiar.

Perfect music. It's so interesting to me how you can totally see both of your current faces in those earliest baby photos. My favourite pic of you is the one in the yellow shirt. But that last photo of the two of you by the stacks, that is just beautiful.

I feel like I'm watching a romantic movie with a happy ending. Now to enjoy the sequel. :)

I'm so jealous that you made out in the stacks in your engagement pictures. I SO want to get engaged so I can do that in my engagement pictures. Where did GH serve his mission?

Debs, thanks! I'm loving the pics on your blog as well.

Edgyk, thanks--it was a lot of fun shooting there!

Marie, thank you so much!

Daltongirl, yep. That's what you were missing. Along with the mango halibut.

STM, I love the stacks pics too. Good times! (Not as good as the Troll Years, but still something.)

Foxyj, I know. Daltongirl and I were just saying that there's no rush for me to have kids, since we can safely guess what they'll look like.

Hey Marci, it's great to see you on here! Will see you next weekend. :-)

Hi Jaimz, we could even do a private showing of the video at my house soon!

Rachie, yeah. I don't remember what the dictionary was about. Funny, though!

Dietcokegrrl, I got that skirt at Ross this summer for dead cheap. I love it and wear it all the time.

Kelly, that third song was my pick. It's "Modern Nature" by Sondre Lerche and is on the Dan in Real Life soundtrack. You can hear the whole thing here. I just like it, and lyrics-wise it was pretty fitting for us.

Chosha, thanks! I love the yellow shirt pic too, that was my 8th birthday.

Abby, you know how it is with us library folk. There's just something about the stacks . . .
(And GH served in the California Arcadia mission. He got to meet Casey Affleck. So there's something.)

Congratulations on everything! I haven't talked to you in years but since I read your blog so much I'm still so happy for you. Oh, and your dress/hair/everything was gorgeous!

Side Note-Here's a blog I think you'd appreciate: http://seriouslysoblessed.blogspot.com/

Hi Mrs. Nem--
I recently stummbled across your blog (and blogs in general) thanks to my #1 (of 4) son who was trying to help cure my recent bout of nostolgia-itis. He assures me it is okay to look at others' blogs, but I'll feel better if I "out" myself.
I am a blast (think of a very cold place) from your past. I hung out a lot with your mom, and my initials were CF but are different now as I just got married (a "re" type) myself. Congratulations on your marriage! It was great seeing you and yours (in pics) again. Best wishes to you both.
Also like you, I have turned into a librarian and am now in sunny Calif. doing Ref. and heading up Teen Services (best thing I've ever done is teach them how to make duct tape wallets--I don't get hugs for SAT prep). Give my best to your family, esp. your mom and your sister (I peeked at her blog too.)
All my best, Librarian 2

Love the Dan in Real Life tune. I've nearly worn my cd out. Please state names and addresses of technical DROPOUTS!!! We'll storm their castle and take no hostages!!!! Sounds like the only fly in your entire perfect day "cake"...

quzAwesome video! I've seen enough pictures of GH now that I may actually recognise him when I see him now. And yay for the 8 pictures with me in them. I feel so cool now.

Rynell said... [reply]

I love that you got a dictionary as a gift! That's my kind of thing. And photos in the library---LOVED those.

What fun photos and good music choices too.

Nemesis said... [reply]

CF, it's so good to hear from you! My mom is actually trying to track you down. (We didn't have your newest address, which is the only reason you didn't get an announcement.) If you see this, can you please email me at miss.nem@gmail.com? Or my mom's email is [last name]@gci.net.

(That's me trying to protect my mom's identity from the rest of the internet.)

Verrah niice. I love how you and your siblings look like Jenny's kids. And are those nudie pics of Jenny in there? I bet she loved that. :)

JB said... [reply]

Yours was easy enough to guess! The less-romantic, but awesome, British sounding, not-70s song. The third, I think?

Hearing Cort say, "piss-poor" to everyone at the wedding was priceless. I'm sorry the video didn't work out then but seriously, that will forever be etched in my memory. We laughed pretty hard for a couple days after. ;)

Audra said... [reply]

Too bad I never got to contribute a picture of you right after you got your hair stuck in the belay... or whatever the rock climbing thing is that you got your hair stuck in...

but if my memory serves you correctly, it led to a cute short cut :)!

But yes, I have troll years that are worse than anybody else's troll years have been! I feel as if I have improved with age!

Cute Cute Wedding Video! I'm glad we are finally able to see it. I can just picture hearing Cortney say Piss Poor! That makes me laugh right now. Hope all is well with you guys. Take Care!

I loved your library photos. Good job Ed and what an adorable couple you make!!

Best Wishes!!!

Pretty much Savannah can just look at these pictures for a flash-forward of what she'll look like with each passing year. Lucky her.

I'm also glad to see that your family, as well, had That Couch.
