I don't sneer at GH enough
GH and I watched Twilight last night for the first time, courtesy of GH's little sister, whose copy we snagged last weekend.
One of the things I found fascinating was watching the way Bella and Edward meet and interact. Who even knew that falling in love is best portrayed in film through snorting, flinching, grimacing, and mouth-breathing? Call me crazy, but usually you do these things around people you don't like.
While watching Kristin Stewart's portrayal of Bella Swann something familiar kept nagging at me. There was the open mouth, the monotone voice, the sullen facial expressions, the staring . . . and then I remembered where I've seen those things before.
Clearly they are twins separated at birth. He got the brains, she got the looks.

Hahaha! Yeah!
I still haven't summoned up the courage (or the stomach) to see that yet.
Super funny, though, about Napoleon. :)
hee hee. :)
Now I want to go watch Napoleon Dynamite and then Twilight. She really does now that you mention it.
Wow.
Talk about hitting the nail on the head. That's amazing.
excellent deduction skills, sherlock!
seriously though, you are 100 percent correct. i found her rapid eye blinking whenever she was "confused" to be the most annoying.
so that's my problem.
mental note: more sneering and heavy breathing
Please tell me your sides hurt from laughing like mine did.
I wish they could start over and scrap Kristen Stewart. She is highly annpying and she is even worse in interviews. She sighs, shifts her eyes everywhere, and sounds like she thinks the reported is stupid every time she responds.
Love the Napoleon Dynamite comparison! I am so showing Levi that when he gets home!
*snort*
Any puffy sleeves in the movie?
(p.s. I'm still not going to see it.)
LOL.
I haven't watched the movie yet-- my 15 year old daughter didn't give it very good reviews. She said, "Read the book. It is much better."
The book was better. Of course, you know that's usually the case!
It's both their reactions in the movie version that is frustrating. One of my favorite scenes in the book is Edward's initial reaction to Bella in class. I try not to laugh while watching the movie because he looks like he wants to hurl.
Hi, I'm Jenny's downstairs neighbor and occasional lurker, but I just had to say I could only get through 30 minutes of that film for the reasons you listed.
I just about died when I saw the comparison to Napoleon.

Oh perfect!
Man, this post made me laugh out loud. Amen, sister!
random lurker here.
i remember watching and wondering why this girl would ever have any friends? she's rude and sullen at a new school, why would other people invite her to be around?
anyway, nice comparison!
:P that's just hilarious
everything about this movies' popularity boggles my mind... I.DO.NOT.UNDERSTAND. I particularly liked the time you referred to her talking as if she was "forced to take part in a family skit." There is no better way to put it. Every time she opens her mouth she looks pained.
ANYWAY...
