Decisions, decisions

My apologies to anyone who saw a rather odd post consisting of only two pictures in their readers yesterday. I was trying to begin this post and somehow got a little crazy with the Enter key. And then suddenly I had a published post. Woops!

What I was going to say was that I'm trying to decide which baby items to attempt over the next few months. Feel free to weigh in, if you like.

Elijah by Ysolda Teague

I started this little guy a while ago because when I saw that picture my uterus may have possibly just BAM, created a twin right then, it was just that cute. I'm almost done--he only has one arm and two ears to go, and yet I'm so very over it. Am telling myself that I must finish him before I can start anything else. (And here's the part where I see the evil feather-haired Cobra Kai sensei from Karate Kid in my head: "Finish him! FINISH HIM!!!")

shiver . . . that is one cold dude.

Baby Mittens by Kaitlyn Wong

I'm thinking these mittens could be a quick way to use the leftover yarn from the newborn hat. Plus, hi, so tiny an' cute! I'd also like to make a sweater, and I'm trying to narrow it down between this one:

and this one:

And then this is really only on the list because the picture made me squeal:

Owlie Sleep Sack by Teresa Cole

It seems there's a debate about how safe these things are for babies to actually sleep in, so the question is whether I'd really be spending all that time to create what could ultimately just be a photo prop. An AWESOME photo prop.

These, though, these are definitely happening:

Legwarmies by Alana Dakos

I have some self-striping sock yarn in shades of blue and brown that is destined to go on some chubby baby thighs. (This is, of course, assuming that the babies I make include some chub and are not instead tiny hollow-boned creatures like Savvy & Co. Although really, if that's the case they probably need the extra warmth.)
Any faves?

*Sigh* All of them are so cute. I love the sweater that the little boy is wearing, but that may be just because he's modeling it and the other one doesn't have a sweet baby model. The sleep sack made me sigh with happiness, and the leg warmers, well, I'm just glad you're doing those because they're darling. So, so cute. Please post pictures when the elephant is done.

Oh my goodness. Where to begin? Just be an overachiever and make everything, that's what I say. Or actually, make two of everything so that when I have a baby I have my own stash of baby goodness made especially by you. ;) In all reality, I love the second sweater. And those mittens. And that elephant is about the cutest thing I've ever seen.

Love the elephant! Just a note from experience, none of my babes like things going over their heads...make the sweater that has the button only closure. I also think that you should make the cute baby rattle with a small jingly bell inside..what I would want anyway:) I can't remember where I saw it, but as you know all things baby now, I am sure that you know what I am talking about.

I will never make anything that cute. Except for my daughter; she is ridiculously cute.

Anyway my lazy new mom two cents are that the most useful of all of those items is definitely the cardigan. Mittens fall off a lot! But maybe not if you make them really awesomely. Pullovers are kind of hard to get over baby heads, but maybe that's just me and my little shrimpy baby with the big head. And you already know about the sleep sack. However the cuteness is seriously overwhelming with all of them and you must finish the elephant. Imagine the little guy tucked up with that in his arms. A-dor-a-ble.

I love the ribbed baby jacket and the elephant. The sleep sack just seems that it would need some overall-type straps and then it would be safe, no? We used a sleepsack with our first until she was in a big girl bed, and love (LOVE) them.

Yes adorable, but do we really need to call them "legwarmies?" I mean, where are we? Seriously So Blessed? :)

Love sweater #2. So baby-mannish. It almost makes we want to have another baby. And take up knitting. Almost.

Oooh, I loved the ribbed jacket. Super super cute. And baby leg warmers? Adorable! I wish I had anything close to knitting skills.

The elephant must be finished. It makes my ovaries explode. Baby leg warmers seem a bit 80's Jane Fonda work out for me. But the mittens they are cute and useful. Maybe you should just make a cardigan for the baby boy since he might have a big head like mj's seriously cute baby.

The wrap-around cardigan will be easier to get him into than the pullover sweater. My first knitting project was a baby sweater! (I had learned to knit as a kid but never actually made anything.) Kid and baby stuff is great because they are small and therefore go quickly!

I love the ribbed baby jacket. And the elephant makes me squeal. Maybe you could make the jacket, and the legwarmers and then quickly finish the elephant right before GH Jr. arrives.

They are all so cute! However, a sweater that buttons in the front is going to be way easier to get on and off the baby than a pull-over one--hands down. The pull over one might just end up being cute teddy bear or doll clothes! The elephant is darling!

Everyone who says that the sweater that doesn't have to go over his head is right that it will be easier, but am I the only one who thinks it looks a little girly? I like the little-man quality of sweater #2.

Pick something that doesn't have to go over a head. Pulling junk over a head is such a pain.

The elephant is cute, but my vote is absolutely for the leg warmies.

I've had 2 winter babies, now, and I can tell you, those leg warmies would have been so useful. (they'd still be useful if you felt like having a giveaway, for me,lol) Seriously, though. The leg warmers would be most useful, from my perspective. My mom made a sweater for my baby, and he wore it once. The weather in CO and UT just isn't conducive to having winter baby clothes--they'll have outgrown it on the one day that you need it.

That elephant is so amazingly cute.

Also, I squealed, too, when I saw the little baby bag. Please do that and take pictures. :)

I'm surprised no one mentioned the beautiful blue baby sack resembles a knitted uterus! I really love it though!

Wow. I can't possibly choose a favorite. They are too splendidly precious. If I HAD to choose, I really love the elephant, sweater, and mittens. And the sleep sack and the leg warmers. Okay, I can't choose. Do them all. :)

The striped baby legs are awesome especially when they start with all the crawling. Also, it is easier to change a diaper. Only three snaps for the onsies instead of one million, like the have on some outfits, and putting pants back on with their flailing legs is comical but gets old.
