It's the final countdoowwwwn . . . .
Aaaaand now I have Arrested Development in my head. And so should you.
Am 36 weeks pregnant now. As of next week(?) I'll be full term-ish, so this baby can feel free to show up whenever. Except I kind of hope he waits until I can get the carseat installation checked.
And until I get my hospital bags packed.
And get registered at the hospital.
And finish filling out my FMLA paperwork.
And signing up for life insurance.
And putting up the shelves in his bedroom.
And going to the party Cicada is throwing.
And getting a new microwave to replace the one I killed.
And practicing my Hypnobabies exercises.
Plus, hey, I still have all those sleeping pills that don't actually work. Might as well finish them off.
Also I have a pedicure and a haircut scheduled for next week and I'd especially like to make it to those things or I will look like a crusty hobbit with three-inch dusty bat poop roots in all the upcoming pictures and maybe no one will want to hold my legs while I'm pushing because they'll be afraid I might gouge them in the face with my toenails and give them some sort of flesh-eating disease.
So . . . really, I'm kind of swamped. He can just feel free to keep on cooking for a little bit longer. But if he wants to stop butting me in the bladder/cervix with his head, then I would be amenable to that.

Hey!! Mutual friend here again, the one who is at the same stage of pregnancy as you. :) And I'm doing Hypnobabies too! We really should talk sometime. These similarities are all just too ...similar. heh.
Now is the perfect time to start telling yourself each day that more often than not, first babies come 7-10 days past the due date.
Yay for you being almost done.
Isn't it time to decide on a name for this baby? He Who Has Not Been Named is a mouthful. Or should we go for Tom Riddle for short?
Hey! What happened to the cute "12 weeks along" pics?
Just sayin...
Anon, my camera started fussing & wouldn't upload pics to the computer, and then we moved, and then all of the USB cables went missing. Ugh.
But yeah. I know. I promise I'll post a huge belly shot soon!
You HAVE to see the darling acorn baby hat French Press Knits made! Had to buy the pattern from Ravelry immediately!
Congratulations--remember, the baby will be your project for the next year. Just go with it!
And whatever Hypnobabies is--you don't need it. ;)
Okay, found out what Hypnobabies is. Also known as self-hypnosis, or relaxation techniques, or guided imagery--I was wrong to say you don't need it; it will be very useful if you can do it. But don't worry if you can't!
i cannot believe you are 36 weeks already! holy amniotic fluid! don't worry -- i didn't have anything ready when my water broke at 38 weeks with mason. yeah, i didn't think anything of it until i was at the hospital with no toothbrush, contact solution, or carseat out of the box and assembled. i was nice enough to let dan take care of that the day we were discharged from the hospital. i have definitely learned my lesson. :)
Good luck! Those last few weeks go the slowest.
Your baby is waiting for his Grandma...you heard it here first, folks. Grandma's and babies have secret deals. I'm predicting around Dec 7 so I will be there by the time you get home from the hospital. That is if you stay the normal 3 days. I don't know what new moms do nowadays. But if you are already home, you won't have had time to cook or clean or get organized so you will still be needing me badly!
Or you could have him on the 6th which is David's birthday or the 11th which is your dad's birthday. I think Joseph Smith's is out, though.
My vote is that you go early. I predict sometime around the Thanksgiving weekend. So excited for you!
Pack your hospital bag NOW. Do not pass Go; do not collect $200. My little guy was just born in September, and he came early, at just over 36 weeks. I had planned to spend the Saturday he was born packing my bag and finishing other baby preparations. That Friday morning, though, I went in for my 36 week checkup and they sent me straight to labor and delivery because my blood pressure had skyrocketed.
Trust me. Make packing a priority because going to the hospital without your bags packed just adds extra, unneeded stress to the process.
Good luck with the final countdown!
I should add that most of the other things you can still take care of either at the hospital or when you get back without too many problems, so you don't need to stress over them too much. I would put Hypnobabies up there with packing, though. ;)
I think I was a little more prepared with my first in terms of paperwork, bags packed, classes taken, etc. than I was with my second. I was totally sure I was going early with my first. Didn't so much with her, but definitely did with my second. Go figure.
I'm really excited for you. My SIL is due on Thanksgiving day, so I think of you both often.
