Like I was ever going to be stylish anyway

Just returned these:

and these:

so I could go to Target and buy these:

Am pretty sure this means I have a Mother Heart. President Julie Beck would be proud.

And yes, it's a pack of baby blankets. But, see, they're awesome baby blankets.

Also the yellow shoes dug into my heels, so I don't actually miss them.

The End.

I have that elephant blanket. And it is marvelous.

RIGHT???

Janssen gets it.

Those swaddling blankets are the single best mothering tool invented in recent history. If you have a girl baby next and I have a boy baby next, let's swap m'kay?

Those blankies are adorable! The shoes I'm not as sorry about, because I just can't get behind cheap shoes, even if they are cute. Sorry.

Those pink shoes are cute! Maybe I'd be a bad mom, but I'd opt for the shoes. (Good thing I'm not a mom.)

The blankets are cute too. ;-0

I'm determined not to buy cheap shoes anymore...but those are really cute.

Are they really that cheap?

Nemesis said... [reply]

Azucar, it was Buy 1 Get 1 Half Off. So yes, they were that cheap. And the red ones looked awesome with skinny jeans.

My sister in law sent me those blankets and I love them already! They are so soft and light. Perfect for our baby who will be born in the dead middle of the Las Vegas heat.

PLEASE tell me you got the pink shoes at Payless?! I have absolutely no qualms about cheap shoes.

Nemesis said... [reply]

Shelbi, yep! Payless, part of the "Nautical" collection. On sale now for $19.99.

Maybe you can bring this up when he's a teenager and yelling at you that you don't care about/understand him. Or is it only girls that do that?

Jenny said... [reply]

If you buy expensive blankets, you should be buying expensive shoes. Seriously!

I have that same set. As a new mom, my life was saved by these wraps alone. I could swaddle my baby, and he wouldn't get too hot. I still swaddle him in them now, and I try to give them to new mom friends as shower gifts. Must. have.

What kind of fabric are these magical blankets? What makes them so awesome for swaddling? I feel ignorant just looking at them and thinking they're ordinary blankets.

Nemesis said... [reply]

Kara, from what people say, these blankets are nice because they're made of breathable thin cotton so you don't worry about overheating, and they're a good size and texture for making a swaddle that stays put. My little guy is past the true swaddle stage but another mom told me they make great blankets to use in the summer.

You could read the customer reviews at the Target page for more details. And yeah. It's kind of crazy to see people going so nuts over blankets, I know.

I will preach the gospel of the Aden and Anais blankets. They are light, they are stretchy, they are huge. And they are perfect. You can swaddle a until the baby is much older (which WORKS), you can use them as a carseat cover, nursing cover, stroller cover, and if you're my kids, as a lovey well into toddlerhood. They're made of muslin, you could probably make your own, but the right kind of soft muslin is more expensive than the blankets are. I bought a set with my three year old and had to bribe her to give a couple back when the baby was born. She was still using them, regularly. (Incidentally, while they are amazing for summer and hot weather, we use them just as much in the winter. Perfect blankets.

I'm getting those blankets for a baby gift for a friend. And I have sworn off cheap shoes. Good shoes for cheap--that's ok! On to Target and Nordstrom Rack!

Just asked a friend where she got her swaddlers like that. I want them, especially with summer coming up. Thanks for the link! (My friend said Buy Buy Baby, so I am glad to know Target has them too).
