Knittin' tiiime . . . KNIT-TIN' TIIIIIIIIME!
Hang on to your ovaries, friends. It's time for more Babies in Handknits. (I was going to say "Knitted Baby Porn" but that seemed . . . not right.)
Our good friends had their first baby in September, and when he was 4 weeks old I finally got to meet the little guy and coo over him and then plonk a hat down on his wee baby head:
Kurbis Baby Hat, modified for newborn sizing |
I made a second hat and gave it to the woman I visit teach, who had a baby around the same time. And yes, my heart is several sizes bigger knowing that there are two babies out there dressed like gourds because of me.

Squee! I knit my fat baby niece a pumpkin hat for her six-month pictures and it was about the sweetest thing ever. I have no idea if she wears it regularly, but I sincerely hope she does.
Oh my goodness, Max was so little there! He's got some chubby little cheeks now. Thanks again for the cute hat! I'll make sure he's wearing it when we see you guys this weekend. :) You, by the way, are the queen of making cute knitted things. I pretty much fail in all aspects of creating things out of yarn.
Oh my gosh, I love knitted baby hats. How fun!
I have a friend that can make hats that look exactly like sesame street characters. Her daughter was zoe for Halloween with the out of control orange fuzzy hat with googly eyes. Pink leotard, pink tights and a pink tutu.
those are seriously adorable hats! i wish you visit taught me ;). i don't comment much, but i really enjoy reading your blog and wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season. i think those hats are helping melt the ice on my heart or something. ha ha.
Oooh, so cute! He looks very contented too. Mouth open and everything. Reminds me of myself when I sleep. ;)
So did anyone else catch the reference to Gone with the Wind???
Dad, I put that in there just for you!!
Those hats are so cute, even I am tempted to produce a wearer of them. But not quite.
You know I did!!
