During the Election Night Coverage, they keep airing previews for the new Lincoln movie starring Daniel Day-Lewis and for which he will be nominated and will most likely win Best Actor. This is not to be confused with the new Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter movie, which does not star Daniel Day-Lewis, but if it did I have no doubt that he would get nominated and most likely win Best Actor.
I tell you. That Daniel Day-Lewis. He can pretty much do anything. He could probably do a biopic about Marilyn Monroe wherein he plays Marilyn Monroe. Not only would I go watch that movie, but I have no doubt he would be awesome in it. And he would win Best Actor. BOOM. Because that's just how he does.
Just look at this guy:
being Cecil-ish in A Room with a View
being really, really hot and promising to find people
The NYTimes had a great article recently about how he approaches each part, and especially playing Lincoln- I have such respect for his talent and dedication (and cobbler skills)- http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/04/movies/daniel-day-lewis-on-playing-abraham-lincoln.html?ref=movies
I think he is the only actor in the world who could have made me feel bad for Cecil in a room with a view.
But only for a minute because then Julian Sands gives THAT speech and you kind of stop breathing for a like a whole minute as your realize there never has been and there never will be any actual romance in your life. Because, you know, it is 2012 and not 1912.
Delurking briefly to also swoon over Julian Sands in A Room with a View...sigh... Daniel Day-Lewis is also delightfully brooding in The Age of Innocence, another of my faves.
I'm Steph, a librarian and mom of 3 (not sure how that happened). Let's chat books, food, Sumptuous Literary Adaptations, poop, knitting and maybe some crazy Mormon Feminism.

Right? I can't stop thinking about how excited I am about this movie. Hooray!
That title! I think we'd get along splendidly.
