Just keep swimming . . .

On Saturday I left Cow Town with its Poop Smells behind and visited the bustling metropolis of Salt Lake City with GH and the Tiny Dark Lord. And lo, the city actually was bustling because in one day they were holding a U of U football game, the State Fair, the Greek Festival, a James Taylor +  Mormon Tabernacle Choir concert, and the first ever SLC Comic Con (which had 70,000+ participants).

In short, there were a lot of people walking around in costumes.

We ate a lunch of roasted meats at Tucanos (using my free birthday coupon) in the now-always-deserted Gateway Mall, then took TRAX to City Creek Mall which enjoying the scent of Superhero Costume Body Odor (it's its own special thing, I think). Passed the throngs of Comic Con-ers waiting in lines outside the convention center while GH cursed himself for not buying tickets back when they were available, before they announced that The Shatner would be there.

After roaming around City Creek Mall and admiring its immodesty splendor, we hit Costco. Among other Spirit-inviting things, I bought a bag of dark chocolate coconut almonds to put in my hospital suitcase. Has anybody else tried these things? They are amazing. I can't open them now or I will eat every last one of them in a 24-hour period and then have a 14-lb baby. Those almonds will be my reward for whatever happens between now and whenever I'm allowed to eat again after the baby is born.

Then it was on to the Bombay House for a delicious birthday dinner with my Utah sibling, followed by cake (that huge chocolate Costco one that will kill you) and ice cream at Spitfire's new SLC digs. Even though Jenny was half dead from exhaustion and pregnancy-related ailments, I made her pose for pictures.

Yeah, I know. We make this look good.

You DO make pregnancy look good! I feel like Salt Lake County is always kind of bustling. I never noticed before, but since moving from Spanish Fork, I often do.

YES on the chocolate coconut almonds. I brought a bag back to the UAE with me and my only regret is that it was just ONE bag. Yeah, they're already gone. Sooooo delicious.

You do look good. Both of you. Almost done!

I will never get over the fact that you can eat Indian food that pregnant and live to tell the tale. Also, Red Iguana's $5 daily special at the food court is modest and good and true so just embrace the awesomeness that is the city creek mall. Pthbbbbbt!

Jenny, can you not eat Indian food either? Last time I did (in March) I threw it up that night. Sad. Nem, you can? Not even cool. Or fair.

So jealous of your dining! I haven't been to a proper sit down restaurant in years.

You both look fabulous! I wish you well for these last few weeks, and for a successful delivery!

I can't eat anything, really. But especially not anything with flavor or spice. Sorry about the barf. I feel you.

I was thinking about that immodesty post again just yesterday . . . we've really got it all wrong. We criticize adorable and innocent little girl arms when they are uncovered but feel like it is our patriotic and spiritual duty and right to build great and spacious buildings called "houses."

Grr. . . okay. I'm done. Happy baby.
