Finally watched American Idol last night.

I managed to resist up until now, because I didn't actually care. And now can I just say how glad I am that it's over?

Yes, that David A is a cute, nice kid. But I will certainly not miss the incessant local news coverage wherein Murray, Utah residents gush about their belief that "David Archuleta represents Murray so good."

It's "so well," Murray residents. So well.

Please don't let us speak of this again.

LOL. I will admit I was on the American Idol bandwagon this year. I think Archuleta is indeed a cute kid with a lovely voice. The best Murray, UT coverage, in my humble opinion? When they showed the mayor of Murray telling David what song he'd sing in the finale--all while wearing an American flag shirt and sporting a handlebar mustache. Not that I have anything against American flag shirts or mustaches. ;-)

I think he's an adorable kid, but I was so ashamed of the girl they showed on the news last night who was sobbing--sobbing--that he didn't win. I admonished my four-year-old to never behave like that. At any age.

Honestly people. The crying has got to stop. Also, I knew when I saw the mayor of Murray it was going to take every speck of self control Ed had not to take pictures just of the mayor.

I broke down and watched the last 15 minutes of the show last night. The crying and the carrying on really makes me ill. Is this truly the best thing TV has to offer?

Archuleta is boring.

Nice kid, extremely boring.

Thanks for championing the correct usage of English. Keep it up!

(BTW - I hope that "championing" is a real word and that I've spelt it correctly!)

My friends have been watching religiously for the last couple of months; and from the bits I've seen, the show is frequently entertaining. They had some excellent singers, and some interesting variety.

Of course, the closer they got to the end, the more dramatic and drawn out it had to be.

The "Finale" was 2 hours long. From what I understand none of the songs sung during that time counted, and there were a lot of strange guest performances. Basically it took them 2 hours to get around to announcing the already-determined winner.

FWIW, I thought David Archuleta had the better voice, but David Cook had a much better stage presence.
