Happy New Year's Eve

So I was working on my list of New Year's Resolutions for 2009 (#1. Have more sex than I did in 2008--HAH!) but then I came across a fun idea in this month's Real Simple magazine. Instead of asking people what they plan to do this year, they asked them to write in with what they are NOT going to do. (examples: I am not going to go on a diet, I am not going to take on more than I can handle, I am not going to stop drinking, etc.)

Which I think sounds like a lot more fun. So I'll be working on that, and would love to hear what some of yours would be.

here's one I'm not going to do. I encourage you to adopt it.

1. I am not going to talk about my sex life on my blog.

That sounds like a great one.

1. I am not going to joke about my sex life on my blog, except for the times when I do.

I am not going to blog during work.

Yah...that sounds plausible.

i saw this in the real simple mag too and love the idea! it's so smart. seriously. who wants to make a resolution to hop on another diet? sheesh. i just don't want to have to worry about my weight or worry about what i look like. so this next year, i'm just not going to worry. sounds easy enough...right? ;)

This is too hard.

I am not going to blog-hop without stopping and saying 'hi.'

I am not going punish blog-visitors with tacky country-pop music that starts up every time you visit.

I am not going to read the comments on local news stories because any good points are drowned out by losers, miscreants and trolls.

I am not going to let another year go by with pink-and-blue wallpaper in my kitchen.

I am not going to regret letting my mother-in-law borrow my DVD of Persuasion. I will just ask her every day if she is done watching it - until she gets frustrated and gives it back.

I will not forget 212 times to have Jenny's special shirt made.

This is a good way to do resolutions! I like it!

Yeah, Pattersons, I keep telling myself that too. But then I'm like, "But it's my LUNCH BREAK, that's totally different!" And then the slippery slope has me in its filthy gaping maw.

Howdy, Nells! Yeah, that's one of mine too. I mean, I DO have to start eating better now that the holidays are over, but I'm thinking that's about as far as I'll go.

Sorry, mom.

Daaaang, Jenny. That would be a hard one for me to keep! My hat is off to you. Thanks for saying hi today!

N.F., you are encouraging, her! No encouraging! ;-)

Jeri, I am loving your resolutions. Especially #1, #2, and #4.
